Having a five-part series on handling the emotional and structural aspects of finally finishing your manuscript was such a treat. It was wonderful to have Laurel Cohn’s expertise over several blog posts. But Laurel’s time with the Art of Writing doesn’t stop here. Laurel will of course teach her famous Backstory class for us in our 2023 retreats. But she will also teach and lead us through the Art of Writing’s very special Next Draft course in Florence from June 25-29.
The Next Draft course is for writers who have finished their manuscripts and are asking themselves now what? What are my next steps? How do I manage these words, deal with this text, handle this story? How do I edit to approach this next draft? HELP!
At the Art of Writing, we are doing everything we can to help you put The End on your ms. The final full stop. Period. Every Sunday night our Alumni gather together by zoom for free TIME TO WRITE sessions with a guest speaker. There is nothing like listening to a successful writer to inspire and uplift us. After our guest speaker, we mute for one hour and write together. Every Sunday night. Believe me, a speaker and 60 minutes of writing are enough to get you back into your story. Just writing for one hour on a Sunday night with others can set you up for the coming week. Then…hopefully… by June 25, 2023, you will be ready to work on your next draft! Woohoo!
Because you will finish your story. Then join us for a week of private afternoon consultations on your ms and morning classes in Florence. We have to talk about your manuscript!
